Wheelbarrow across the Sahara

On Christmas Eve, Geoffrey Howard left Beni Abbes, Algeria, to cross the Sahara. With only the clothes he stood in, and a Chinese sailing wheelbarrow to carry his belongings, he aimed to be the first man to cross the Sahara on foot, unaided by vehicle or camel, and using only natural supplies and watering points. 94 days and almost 2000 miles later, he arrived in Kano.
