Written by Ashok Kamte's wife, Vinita Kamte, this books looks at the police lapses, and exposes the slow response by the police force. The book uses information gathered by Mrs Kamte from freedom of information requests, meetings with eyewitnesses, police control room records and post mortem reports. This book brings to light the ill preparedness of the India security system, the irrresponsiblility of the media, and the weakness of the India political system.

While the Mumbai terror attacks are largely are largely associated with the Taj Hotel, the Trident Hotel, Nariman House and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) due to the wide media coverage, it was the lesser known Cama Hospital incident in which the quickest and most decisive of actions were taken, that too within the first few minutes.

The only Fidayeen to be captured alive, Ajmal Kasab, was injured here and the three officers - Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte and Vijay Salaskar and their men made the ultimate sacrifice for this.
