Carol Anderson and Thomas Christian, clinical trial examiners performing a routine follow-up investigation, quickly find themselves embroiled in a series of murders linked to the cover-up of one of man's greatest discoveries - a cure for breast cancer. The former lovers race across North America in pursuit of the records that contain the formula, chased by mercenaries employed by the ruthless CEO of a leading pharmaceutical company.
