Following the extraordinary success of his Academy Award-winning film, Leaving Las Vegas, Mike Figgis has now written and directed The Loss of Sexual Innocence, a collection of small images and larger episodes that all concern the gradual loss of innocence. Central to the film is the parable of Adam and Eve, including their expulsion from the Garden of Eden, refracted through Figgis's highly personal approach to character and to writing for film. Included is a diary of the filmmaking process by Figgis, who shot the film in England, Italy, and Tunisia with a reduced crew and inexperienced actors.
